The Caring.com Senior Living Reviews Program Criteria
This Caring.com senior living consumer reviews and rating program is the highest-integrity program of its kind. It incorporates more than 375,000 published consumer reviews that adhere to strict guidelines. Introduced in 2012, it was the first reviews-based senior living industry excellence award.
The website team extensively audits each consumer review on their finalists’ page of 10,400 entries – they are well-vetted and re-evaluated for validity and conformance with Caring.com’s well-established quality standards.
The award has no advertising or partnership requirements, and winners do not apply for the honor or pay fees. To be eligible, senior communities with resident capacities of 21 or more need:
- A minimum of 15 published reviews on their Caring senior living posting, with a median rating of 4.5 stars or higher by October 15, 2023
- At least four reviews between October 15, 2022, and October 15, 2023
- One or more 5-star reviews between January 1, 2023, and October 15, 2023
- Published responses for each 1-star and 2-star review
